Lance Richlin - Paintings, drawings and sculptures

Lance Richlin was born in California, America in 1960. He took an interest in both history and art as a child and was shown to have an aptitude for both. Coming from an artistic family his father ( Maurice Richlin) an Oscar-winning screenwriter of "Pillow Talk" who helped create the clumsy Inspector Clouseau in "The Pink Panther', encouraged him to follow his artistic leanings. As growing up his family extensively travelled around the world exposing Lance an art education. They would often visit art galleries, museums and places of interest. His formal education was spent split between America and England.
Lance is mainly self taught, not only is he an artist, he also is an instructor and author (and sometimes comedian) with an impressive resume, whose disciplines include oil painting and sculpture (both in stone and bronze). He is a prolific artist and tirelessly works daily to ever perfect his skill. His work is meaningful with an added spiritual dimension. There is an intensity to his work and does not shy away from addressing the afflictions the human condition. His portraits and figure paintings are striking at first glance, but time is needed to really appreciate the level of detail and accuracy employed within them. His sculptures are equally as fine and deployed with the same amount of care and precision.
He generally only works from life and all his works are life size.
