Gabriel Picart - Paintings

Gabriel Picart was born in 1962 Barcelona, Spain. Gabriel's family came to live in a  house adjacent to the famous Park Güell. Gabriel spent his childhood in that historically glorious pavilion designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, to emulate the witch's house in Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale Hansel and Gretel. The Entire Park became Gabriel's playground, it is not surprising that within an artistic milieu such as this he would soon develop an interest in art.

In the very same room that Gaudi executed his designs, Picart set up his first studio. He says that he felt Gaudi's ghost hovering over his shoulder. Gabriel soon became so addicted to painting that he gave up a promising career in architecture.

He met and trained with the famous illustrator Enric Torresprat.  and worked as an illustrator from 1980-1996  when he decided work as a freelance artist.
